"Alright, that...should...do it." Kayla stated as she finished up drawing in the ritual circle and stood up, adjusting her corset and brushing some chalk dust off her oversized bust.
"Aaaand I should," Jenna paused, reading over the page of the old book again,"...be able to handle this one easy. You ready, Aes?"
Above them, Aesther hovered listlessly, arms behind her head looking like she was floating in a pool. She barely responded to her friends with a simple "Mmh" as she furrowed her brow. This was hardly the first time they'd tried out a new spell out of the book, but for the first time Aesther felt uneasy about it.
Kayla spoke up, "How are you not excited about this? A chance to go out and have fun for a night, basically being alive again? I figured you'd be all for it."
"I dunno...I just. Yeah, I want to but....something feels weird."
"Like how?"
"It's hard to say just...like the air feels weird, heavy. Its got me on edge about this, like something will go wrong."
Jenna chimed in now, clapping the book closed underneath her overgrown pecs, "I got this, easy. We've done more complex rituals, hell the one we used when we met you was way worse. Now toughen up, softie."
Aesther turned over in the air and looked down at the two of them, an annoyed smirk spread across her face. They knew how to egg her on at this point, and nothing did that more than jabs at her physique. She took place in the center of the circle, pushing aside the anxious feelings she still couldn't shake.
"Okay, lets do it."
